The canals of England were originally built in the 18th century to speed up and reduce the cost for transport of goods between towns and cities by boat. We are based on the Grand Union Canal which played an instrumental role in transporting goods such as coal between London and Birmingham. Today the UK waterways are a thriving leisure amenity and weave through some of the most picturesque areas in the UK showing you the quaint English villages and scenic countryside as you pass by.
