Relaxation and Slower Pace of Life

Life on a narrowboat forces you to slow down, providing a welcome escape from the fast pace of daily life.

The gentle rhythm of cruising along canals, with serene landscapes and wildlife all around, is incredibly calming.

Start your journey from our boatyard at Weedon a favourite route is to go south on the Grand Union Canal which ventures through the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside.

There are numerous walking and cycling routes where you can explore at your leisure.

On your second day you will reach the Blisworth tunnel, after passing through you arrive in Stoke Bruerne. If you are new to lock’s moor up here. We will meet you before the locks and take you through all you need to know and accompany you through the first few locks until you are happy.

In Stoke Bruerne there are pubs and restaurants where you can enjoy a meal and drinks.   

The Canal Museum is close by and well worth a visit.

For walkers there is Stoke Bruerne circular walk, 6.2 miles a jewel in the canal network.

Exploring History and Culture

Our local canals, the Grand Union Canal and Oxford Canals are steeped in history, with aqueducts, tunnels, and historic locks to marvel at.

You can moor up and explore charming villages, pubs, and local attractions along the way.

Further on your journey you will reach Cosgrove. On shorter trips this is a turning point to start your return.

Cosgrove features the Iron trunk aqueduct offering splendid views and there is a heritage walk over the aqueduct for those wanting to take in all of the scenery.

Narrowboat holidays are great for multi-generational groups; kids love the adventure, while older family members can enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Our boats are home from home with heating, bathrooms, and kitchens, ensuring a comfortable stay.

Eco-Friendly Travel

Narrowboating is a low-impact way to explore the countryside, promoting sustainable tourism.

Our boats have modern efficient engines which comply to the most recent marine emissions standards.

On your return journey if you have time, you can explore the Weedon Royal Ordinance Depot which is close to the boatyard.   

If you want a more spacious boat take a look at Knotweed or Balmoral.

Both are great boats for larger groups, they can accommodate up to 8 people with separate cabins configurable for single or double usage.

Relax in the spacious front cabin which has a large table allowing people to get together or just spend some time to yourselves.

You can watch the world go by from the open bow and stern decks.
